While much of the role involves being out on the road with customers, the Sales Representative is expected to be based in the Kingston office whenever not in the field. Remote or home-based work is not part of this role.

Job Overview

The Sales Representative is a self-motivated professional who thrives in client-facing situations and knows the value of being out in the field. This role is best suited for someone who builds strong relationships through face-to-face interactions, whether that means visiting job sites, meeting with developers, or representing Anchor Concrete at industry events. The successful candidate will balance their time between client engagement and office-based responsibilities. When not actively meeting with customers or attending industry events, the Sales Representative is expected to maintain a presence in the Kingston office to collaborate with colleagues, follow up on leads, and support day-to-day sales operations.

Develop and Maintain Customer Relationships

Regularly get out into the field to meet with customers, specifiers, and consultants.

Represent Anchor Concrete at trade shows, industry events, and client sites.

Maintain strong, in-person connections with key accounts while following up on leads and inquiries.

Drive Sales and Revenue Growth

Proactively seek out and qualify new business opportunities through networking, research, and referrals.

Take initiative in following up on submitted quotations, securing commitments, and gathering market intelligence.

Consistently meet or exceed revenue and growth targets through self-driven effort and persistence.

Maintain a strong presence in the market through site visits and on-the-ground engagement.

Technical Expertise and Quotations

Read and interpret plans, specifications, and drawings to understand project requirements.

Collaborate with Estimating and Engineering teams to prepare accurate takeoffs and quotations.

Utilize ERP systems and established pricing methods to prepare quotations and sales orders.

Provide technical support regarding Anchor Concrete products, applications, and specifications.

Order Management and Production Coordination

Prepare complete and accurate sales orders, including shipping and delivery instructions.

Coordinate with the Sales Coordinator and Production Coordinator to meet customer delivery schedules.

Monitor project progress and address any technical concerns that arise.

Account Management and Customer Support

Monitor customer purchase patterns and recommend additional products or solutions.

Assist in counter sales, inbound customer traffic, and order management.

C ontribute to marketing initiatives by suggesting advertising and new product opportunities.

Be present in the office when not on the road, ensuring active participation in team meetings, customer follow-ups, and internal coordination.

Outgoing, confident, and comfortable in client-facing environments.

Self-motivated with a proactive approach to scheduling site visits and client meetings.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly.

Adaptable and effective when working outside the office environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check.

Proven experience in sales or account management, preferably in construction or manufacturing.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage clients effectively.

Demonstrated ability in business development and identifying new market opportunities.

Ability to analyze market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.

Secondary school diploma required; post-secondary education in business administration, marketing, civil engineering technology, or a related field is an asset.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Combination of office, plant, and customer site environments.

Exposure to construction sites and manufacturing environments.

Extended periods of computer and telephone use.

Occasional physical activity such as standing, walking, and visiting sites.

Frequent interruptions and a dynamic workflow requiring multitasking.

This role requires a mix of travel and in-office work. When not engaged in customer visits, trade shows, or field activity, the Sales Representative is expected to work from the Kingston office.
